SIX NAMED TO CoSIDA/ESPN THE MAGAZINE
ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Six Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) student-athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII College Division Teams in men's and women's basketball selected recently and released today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Cornell center Chris Handke (Bellevue, Iowa/Bellevue) and Simpson forward Andrew Dau (Primghar, Iowa/South O'Brien) were each named to the Men's First Team, while Buena Vista guard Margo Muhlbauer (Manilla, Iowa/IKM) was named to the Women's First Team.

Loras guard Lindsay Bava (Downers Grove, Ill./Montini Catholic) was tabbed for the Women's Second Team, while Coe guard Kaitlin Breitbach (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) and Dubuque senior Jennifer Nichols (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) were each named to the Women's Third Team.

Handke is a senior biochemistry and molecular biology with a 3.91 grade-point average. Dau is a senior computer science and math major with a 3.97 GPA. Muhlbauer is a senior accounting major with a 3.75 GPA. Bava is a senior elementary education major with a 3.79 GPA. Breitbach is a junior biology major with a 3.95 GPA. Nichols is a senior health and wellness major with a 3.81 GPA.

Academic All-District First Team members move on to the national ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® ballot. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Women’s Basketball Team is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, February 23 and the Men’s Basketball Team is scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, February 24.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing, be a starter or key reserve and possess at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

District VII College Division includes NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA schools in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
