Luther Women 24th in USTFCCCA Preseason Poll; Six IIAC Teams Ranked Regionally
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa, September 1, 2010)
The Luther College women's cross country team is ranked 24th in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) Division III preseason poll. The Norse were the only team (men or women) ranked nationally, but a total of six men's and women's squads will open the season in the USTFCCCA Central Region Top 10.

Wartburg Women, Loras Men Picked to Win 2010 IIAC Soccer Titles
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa, August 31, 2010)
— The men's team from Loras College and the women's team from Wartburg College are the coaches' picks to capture the 2010 Iowa Conference soccer titles. The Duhawks were a unanimous selection with eight first-place votes, while the Knights received six first-place votes and edged 2009 IIAC tournament champ Dubuque by four votes (67-63).

Wartburg Receives Preseason Nod by IIAC Coaches to Win 2010 Volleyball Title
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa, August 27, 2010)
Wartburg College, which made a 13.5-game improvement in overall record from 2008 to 2009 and tied for second place in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) volleyball standings in 2009, is the coaches’ pick to win the 2010 IIAC title. The Knights received five first-place votes, totaling 66 points in the IIAC Volleyball Coaches’ Poll.

Central Tabbed by IIAC Coaches to Win 2010 Football Title
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa, August 23, 2010)
Defending league champion Central College, which captured its league-best 30th Iowa Conference football title in 2009, is the unanimous pick of the league’s other schools to win the 2010 IIAC football title. The Dutch received all eight possible first-place votes (coaches are not allowed to rank their own team), totaling 72 points to stand eight markers clear of fellow 2009 NCAA participant Coe College.

NFCA Names Luther's Kruse 2010 Diamond Sports Catcher of the Year
(Decorah, August 21, 2010)
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and Diamond Sports have announced that Luther College senior Tiffany Kruse was one of 10 student-athletes who are the recipients of the 2010 Diamond Sports Catcher of the Year award.The Diamond Catcher of the Year award is presented annually to the top catcher from an NFCA member institution in each of the following divisions: NCAA (Divisions I, II and III), NAIA, NJCAA (Divisions I, II and III), Cal JC, NWAACC and high school.

Wartburg's Hannah Baker Selected as IIAC's NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa, June 28, 2010) Recent Wartburg College graduate and former track & field student-athlete Hannah Baker has been named the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s nominee for the 2010 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors senior student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership. Following cuts in both August and September, the winner will be announced at a dinner in Indianapolis on October 17, 2010.

Luther, Wartburg Men's Golf Teams Earn GCAA All-Academic Team Status

Luther College and Wartburg College are among 113 schools honored with All-Academic Team recognition by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Monday. Schools receiving All-Academic Team recognition submitted team GPAs of 3.00 or higher.
