Track: Faith Burt, Wartburg College, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls
Burt, a sophomore, was named co-Most Outstanding Performer at the 2010 Iowa Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships after winning both the 100- and 200-meter dashes and anchoring the winning 4x100-meter relay. She won the 100 with a time of 12.16 seconds after posting an NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 12.15 in the prelims. She broke her own IIAC record in the 200 with an NCAA automatic-qualifying time of 24.49 seconds while the 4x100 relay set an IIAC record with an NCAA automatic-qualifying time of 46.79 seconds. Field: Skye Morrison, Wartburg College, Chicago, Ill./Proviso East
Morrison, a sophomore, was named co-Most Outstanding Performer at the 2010 Iowa Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships after winning both the long jump (18-11 ¼) and triple jump (38-6 ¾) with NCAA provisional-qualifying efforts. She also finished fifth in the 100 (12.77). (Co-IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)

Track: Brittany Thomas, Wartburg College, Kansas City, Kan./Sumner Academy
Thomas, a junior, set a new school record and gained automatic national qualifying status with her time of 14.23 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles at the annual Wartburg-Luther dual. The time, which ranks fourth nationally in Division III, broke the former school standard of 14.31 set by All-American Lucy Joseph. She also won the 100-meter dash with a 12.57-second clocking.
Field:
Carissa Bentz, Central College, Ute, Iowa/Boyer Valley
Bentz, a senior, won the heptathlon at the Iowa Conference Multi-Event Championships with 4,485 points. The total, which ranks seventh in Division III, provisionally qualifies Bentz for the NCAA Division III Championships.

May 2, 2010

Track: Nevada Morrison, Wartburg College, Chicago, Ill/Proviso East
Morrison, a sophomore, turned automatic national qualifying and school-record times in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes against a multi-divisional field at the Winona State Warrior Open. She placed third in the 100 with a time of 11.95 seconds and followed it up with a runner-up clocking of 24.37 seconds in the 200. Both times rank second in NCAA Division III this season. Field:Lauren Boleen, Luther College, Monticello, Minn./Monticello
Boleen, a junior, won the javelin throw at the Winona State Warrior Open with an NCAA automatic qualifying and school-record throw of 145 feet, 1 inch. The mark currently ranks third-best in Division III. She won the competition by over 26 feet and broke her own school record by 7 feet.

Track: Loras College relay team of Hannah Weiss (Sr., Dallas Center, Iowa/Dowling Catholic), Laura Rieger (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels), Maria Kalb (Fr., Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert Catholic), and Mary Bridget Corken (Sr., Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert Catholic)
The quartet won the distance medley relay and placed fifth in the 4x800-meter relay at the 101st Drake Relays. Their winning time of 11:48.18 in the distance medley relay set a school record, breaking the old mark by 12 seconds, while their 9:09.49 clocking in the 4x800 also set a school record. Field: Kinsey Bak, Simpson College, Hinton, Iowa/Hinton
Bak, a sophomore, won the high jump at the Kip Janvrin Open, breaking an 18-year old school record, tying a meet record and automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships by clearing 5 foot, 7 ¼ inches. Her jump is tied for second-best in Division III this season. She also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.93) and 11th in the long jump (15-7 ¾).

April 18, 2010

Track: Wartburg 4x400-meter relay team of Chelsey Jacobs (Sr., Allison, Iowa/North Butler), Faith Burt (So., Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), Nevada Morrison (So., Chicago, Ill./Proviso East), and Jenny Kordick (Sr., Truro, Iowa/Interstate 35)
The team captured the title at the 83rd Kansas Relays with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 3:46.56, defeating a multi-divisional field including NCAA Division I programs from Iowa State and Nebraska. The time bettered the previous season’s best set the prior week at Washington-St. Louis and is currently the fastest time in Division III
Field: Jill Ziskovsky, Central College, Dallas Center, Iowa/Dallas Center-Grimes
Ziskovsky, a junior, won the heptathlon at the Dick Young Classic with 4,423 points. An NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifying total, it ranks fourth in Division III this year and is a personal best.

April 11, 2010

Track: Chelsey Jacobs, Wartburg College, Allison, Iowa/North Butler
Jacobs, a senior, helped guide Wartburg to a runner-up team finish in a field filled with national powers including Illinois Wesleyan and Washington University in St. Louis. She ran the lead leg on the Knights’ 4x400-meter relay team that automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and ran the fastest time in Division III by nearly nine seconds (3:46.96). She later came back to win the 400-meter dash with a strong provisional qualifying time of 56.95 seconds. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Field: Sarah Anciaux, Coe College, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City
Anciaux, a junior, was the highest-placing NCAA Division III thrower in the shot put at the Cornell Invitational, placing fourth behind three Northern Iowa throwers with a 44-foot, 4-inch effort. Her shot put throw is ranked seventh in Division III, while her winning effort from Cornell in the discus throw (141-3) ranks eighth.

April 4, 2010

Track: Faith Burt, Wartburg College, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls
Burt, a sophomore, helped lead the host Knights to the team title at the 2010 Wartburg Select Meet. She won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and was a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay. Her winning time of 12.23 seconds in the 100 was an NCAA provisional-qualifying performance, as was the time of 47.51 seconds in the 4x100.
Field: Sarah Anciaux, Coe College, Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City
Anciaux, a junior, single-handedly accounted for 24 of Coe’s 118.5 points at the Central Invitational. She finished second in both the discus throw (135-9) and shot put (41-11 ¼), fourth in the javelin throw (102-5), and sixth in the hammer throw (111-1).

March 28, 2010

Track: Bridget Hosley, University of Dubuque, Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest
Hosley, a junior, won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and ran on the fourth place 400-meter relay at the Rhodes Invitational. She took the 100 with a 12.33-second clocking and the 200 in 25.78 seconds.
Field: Danielle McNally, Loras College, Monona, Iowa/MFL-Mar-Mac
McNally, a junior, won the discus and hammer throws with NCAA-provisional efforts at the Rhodes (Tenn.) Invitational March 27. She threw the discus 138 feet, 1 inch and the hammer 162-11 to lead the Duhawks to a runner-up finish.
