CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Eleven Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) football players were named to the D3football.com All-West Region Team announced by the on-line publication earlier this week.

University of Dubuque junior wide receiver Michael Zweifel (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) and Cornell College senior tight end Alex Macey (Oceanside, Calif./Vista) and senior safety Don Bladt (Shelby, Iowa/AHST) were named to the First Team.

Central placed four on the Second Team with senior running back David Zachary (Des Moines, Iowa/Dowling Catholic), senior offensive guard Andy Kneib (Overland Park, Kan./Olathe East), senior defensive tackle Shane Wong (Pleasant Hill, Iowa/Southeast Polk), and junior punter Kurtis Brondyke (Clinton, Iowa/Clinton) receiving honors. Joining the Dutch quartet on the Second Team were Coe freshman defensive end Frank Weymiller (New Albin, Iowa/Waukon) and senior linebacker Tate Harrison (Nevada, Iowa/Nevada) and Luther junior linebacker Kyle McGivney (Apple River, Ill./Warren).

Dutch junior placekicker Jake Viggers (Altoona, Iowa/Southeast Polk) was the lone IIAC player selected to the Third Team.

The Teams, selected in balloting by West Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 152 nominations by Division III member schools. It is the fourth time D3football.com has chosen All-Region Teams. A total of 75 players were named to the West Region Team.
